While we are still waiting for Chicago’s 2014 TIF reports, the mayor’s office has released its 2015 city budget analysis. They admit to $1.4 BILLION sitting in TIF accounts on January 1, 2015. But, regrettably, it’s all spoken for or “committed.” We sent the city our third FOIA request (we did one in 2013 and 2014) trying to get a provable accounting of where this money is and a verifiable list of the “commitments” which are encumbering our money.
